Promising Nigerian Midfielder Isaiah Okafor Joins FC Zurich

Swiss champions FC Zürich are set to announce the signing of talented Nigerian defensive midfielder Isaiah Okafor from Bayer Leverkusen on a two year deal. According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, the agreement includes an option to extend the contract until June 30, 2029.

Isaiah, the younger brother of AC Milan star Noah Okafor, joined Bayer Leverkusen in January 2022 but failed to secure a competitive senior appearance. During his time at Leverkusen, he played 39 matches for the U19 team, including five in the UEFA Youth League, and five matches for the U17s.

A product of FC Basel, Okafor has represented Switzerland at the U17, U18, and U19 levels. The move to FC Zürich marks a new chapter in his career, where he aims to gain more first team experience and continue his development.
