Rivers United head coach Finidi George has expressed satisfaction with his team’s 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes in their NPFL Matchday 28 encounter.
Speaking after the match, Finidi admitted that difficult weather conditions affected his team’s performance but praised his players for their resilience.
“I think the weather made things difficult for us,” Finidi told Rivers United’s media team.
“Every game from now on will be tough, especially as we go away. It will be a battle, but we must be ready for it. The Niger Tornadoes we played today were different from the team we faced in the reverse fixture. They changed their tactics and could have taken a point, but we thank God for the goal and the three points.”
Rivers United will now turn their attention to their next fixture against El-Kanemi Warriors as they continue their push in the NPFL title race.
