Enyimba head coach Stanley Eguma remains confident that the People’s Elephant can finish among the top three in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL and return to continental competition. Despite sitting in eighth place with 46 points 14 behind league leaders Remo Stars Eguma believes the season is far from over.
The Aba giants boosted their hopes with a 2-1 comeback victory over rivals Abia Warriors on Matchday 32. Goals from Kalu Nweke and Joseph Atule overturned an early deficit, delivering a vital win. Eguma, who only recently took charge of the nine-time champions, stressed that the team is improving steadily and learning from earlier setbacks, including dropped points against Bayelsa United and Sporting Lagos.
Eguma highlighted both the NPFL and the Federation Cup as viable routes to continental qualification. Enyimba face Abakaliki FC in the Round of 16 of the Federation Cup on April 16, and the coach declared that the club would approach both competitions with equal seriousness.
