The Abia State government has rewarded the players and management of Abia Warriors Football Club with N10 million for their historic achievement of reaching the finals of the 2023/2024 FA Cup. This marks the first time Abia Warriors have qualified for the FA Cup finals, although they were defeated by El Kanemi Warriors.
Governor Otti hosted the team at his country home in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, and congratulated them for making the state proud. He expressed confidence that the team will win the FA Cup in the future.
Governor Otti announced additional rewards, including a new coaster bus for the team and further items as resources allow. On behalf of the state government, Governor Otti announced a donation of N30 million to the players and personally gifted them N5 million.
