The Abia State government has rewarded the players and management of Abia Warriors Football Club with N10 million for their historic achievement of reaching the finals of the 2023/2024 FA Cup. This marks the first time Abia Warriors have qualified for the FA Cup finals, although they were defeated by El Kanemi Warriors.

Governor Otti hosted the team at his country home in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, and congratulated them for making the state proud. He expressed confidence that the team will win the FA Cup in the future.
