Nigerian women’s football star Francisca Ordega has signed a twoy ear deal with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad Ladies as a free agent, following the expiration of her contract with CSKA Moscow. Al-Ittihad announced the signing via their social media platform.
Ordega’s move reunites her with fellow Nigerian international Ashleigh Plumptre, who also plays for Al-Ittihad. During her successful stint at CSKA Moscow, the 31 year old played 84 matches, scoring 29 goals and providing 20 assists. She helped the team win the Russian Cup and one Super Cup.
In addition to her achievements in Russia, Ordega has played for several top clubs worldwide, including Levante, Atletico Madrid, Washington Spirit, and Shanghai Shengli. Al-Ittihad Ladies currently sit seventh in the 10-team league table, struggling with four losses in their last five games.
Ordega’s experience and goal-scoring prowess are expected to provide a much-needed boost to the team as they look to climb up the standings.
