Italian Serie A club Hellas Verona has completed the signing of former Arsenal academy defender Daniel Oyegoke from Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian. The transfer, confirmed through official channels, is subject to Scottish FA approval and international clearance.
Oyegoke, who was born in Barnet, England, to Nigerian parents, has signed a three and a half year contract with Verona, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2027–2028 season. His move represents another step in his evolving career, having previously played in England and Scotland.
The 21 year old right back started his football journey at Barnet before joining Arsenal’s youth setup, where he featured in the Under-18 Premier League, FA Youth Cup, EFL Trophy, and Premier League 2, making 33 appearances. After rejecting a new deal at Arsenal, he moved to Brentford in 2021 and gained first-team experience through loan spells at Milton Keynes Dons and Bradford City.
Last summer, Oyegoke signed for Hearts, where he played 19 matches, scoring once. His time in Edinburgh also saw him debut in European competitions, featuring in one UEFA Europa League qualifier and five UEFA Conference League matches.
Currently, Hellas Verona sits 17th in the Serie A standings, with 20 points from 22 games, and Oyegoke’s arrival is expected to bolster their defensive options as they fight to avoid relegation.
