Odion Ighalo, the renowned former Super Eagles striker, has openly discussed the possibility of retiring within the next three years. Currently playing for Al Wehda in the Saudi Pro League, the 34 year old shared his thoughts during a recent interview with Oma Sports TV.

Having made his mark as a senior player for Nigeria in 2015, Ighalo briefly retired from international football after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations but returned for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Reflecting on his career decisions, Ighalo underscored financial considerations as increasingly influential. I don’t know when God says stop, but I know it’s not going to be more than three years before I stop. I’ve played for passion all my life, now I have to play for money, he explained.
