The 4th edition of the Felix Okugbe Memorial Football Tournament begins today, October 10, 2024, in Benin City at Emotan College Sports Ground. Organised by the Federation of Youth Soccer Clubs FEYSOC Edo State, this yearโ€™s tournament honours the legacy of Felix Okugbe, former Edo Swan boss and sports icon. The opening match will feature Edo Swan against the Ex Players of Ugbowo Bombers FC and Friends of Okugbe, marking the ninth anniversary of Okugbe’s passing.

This under 16 tournament, supported by Friends of Felix Okugbe and ex players of Ugbowo Bombers FC, celebrates youth football development in Edo State. Over 16 youth teams have registered, with the competition officially kicking off on October 13. Prince Bobby Winner Okojie, representing the ex players, emphasized their commitment to continuing this event in memory of their former coach. This annual event is our way of immortalising Felix Okugbeโ€™s contributions to sports, he shared, acknowledging the communityโ€™s support.
